Itinerary

The itinerary below is designed to give you an overview of the route. Get in touch with our team for a full travel itinerary, or to create a tailor-made trip.

Day 1-2: Entebbe

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport. Note: We have a dedicated flight partner who can help find and book the best international flights for you.

On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation, settling in after your flight.

Set on the shores of Lake Victoria, Entebbe is a small town that is easy to explore. Enjoy the markets, hunt for souvenirs or crafts, meander through the Botanical Gardens or relax with a boat cruise on Lake Victoria. You’ll find a wide variety of restaurants and bars where you can sample the local beer, catch a game of football and meet the friendly locals.

Overnight: Best Western Premier Garden Hotel Entebbe or similar (1 night)

Day 2-4: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After breakfast, you'll be transferred to Entebbe Airport to check in for your domestic flight to Kihihi Airstrip, the gateway to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. On arrival you will be transferred to your lodge for lunch and an afternoon at leisure.

Overnight: Buhoma Lodge or similar (2 nights)

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking

Today you will head out to meet the gorillas of Uganda. Your morning starts with breakfast and a short briefing at the park HQ. You will then set off deep into the forest searching for your allocated gorilla family. Spend 1 magical hour with them, before heading back to your lodge for lunch and an afternoon at leisure or explore the surrounding Bwindi community (additional cost).

Day 4-6: Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early breakfast, we depart Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and travel to Ishasha in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park, with a brief stop en route at a community project near Ishasha Village. Located in the western arm of the Great Rift Valley, the park is home to a wide variety of wildlife including elephants, leopard, lions, hippos, buffalo, Uganda kob, baboon and many species of birds.

Overnight: Ishasha Wilderness Camp or similar (2 nights)

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Spend the day enjoying game drives in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, rounding things off with scenic bush sundowners including drinks and snacks.

Day 6-8: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Head north toward the ‘Mweya’ sector of the park which is rich with wildlife. Here you will find vast numbers of Uganda’s unique and strange Euphorbia, or “candelabra” tree. The many nearby crater lakes and mountain ranges provide a beautiful backdrop for your journey. This afternoon enjoy a leisurely boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a 32-kilometre long natural channel, linking Lake Edward and Lake George.

Overnight: Elephant Plains Lodge or similar (2 nights)

Day 7: Chimpanzee Trekking

Today enjoy one final trek - Chimp Trekking in Kyambura Gorge. You will also head out on game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The forest is alive with noise! Chimpanzees can be quite active and move quickly through the forest canopy… or, if you're lucky, you may find them resting or eating near the forest floors. It’s an exhilarating walk, in beautiful scenery. As with gorilla trekking, sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Day 8: Return Home

Today you will transfer to the nearby Mweya airstrip for your return flight to Entebbe. Please check the exact timing of this flight before booking your international departure flight - not to be booked before 19.00hrs.

This is where our services end and we hope you will leave Uganda with some incredible memories and photos of your time here!
