What makes Mahogany Springs special?
Mahogany has some of the best customer service we've ever experienced in Uganda. In many ways, the lodge speaks for itself, it's beautifully designed to make the most of its stunning location in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and each of its 8 suites are both spacious and cosy, with great views and decor.
It's the lodge's commitment to going above and beyond for every customer that walks through their doors that sets it apart from the other lodges in the mid-range, it's why it has such a long list of happy travellers, and it's why we work with the lodge in many of the trips we design.
Rooms & Amenities
The lodge has a selection of suites, including superior rooms, presidential suites, and honeymoon suites. The lodge is a mid-range property, but still manages to impress even the most well-travelled visitor. Each room has an en-suite bathroom and the verandas overlook the forest making for the perfect setting for dinner. You can also choose to dine in the main building which also has great views.
Of course, as gorilla trekking is the main event in Bwindi, the lodge staff know exactly how to look after gorilla trekkers, both before and after the expedition. They'll prepare a packed lunch for you, you'll go to sleep with a hot water bottle waiting for you and wake up to freshly cleaned boots and washed clothes.

Gorilla Trekking from Mahogany
Mahogany Springs is situated near the village of Buhoma on the north side of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Buhoma is where gorilla trekking all began in 1993. The trekking from Buhoma is easier than in other parks of the forest, but it is the most popular.
The trekking here is the most accessible of the 4 trailheads around Bwindi, largely because the Rushegura gorilla family tend to hang around near the village.
